CLAF - CNRS Event

 CLAF-CNRS Latin-American Astro-particle Physics Research
     Network Signing Ceremony

27 January 2026
Auditório Ministro João Alberto Lins de Barros
CBPF, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Latin-American Center for Physics and the French National Centre for Scientific Research gladly announce the signing ceremony for the establishment of the CLAF-CNRS Latin-American Astro-particle Physics Research Network, which will take place at CBPF, in Rio de Janeiro, on January 27th, 2026.

The goal of the initiative is to establish a Latin-American network around the current and next-generation world-leading astro-particle and cosmology experiments operating in the continent with direct CNRS involvement. The network will gather key Latin-American institutions from different countries actively conducting research in astro-particle physics and cosmology, which will be congregated under the regional umbrella of CLAF and in close partnership with CNRS.

By bridging these countries and their relevant institutions together into a single cooperation framework, the network will effectively explore the existing synergies between the various groups to expand the regional impact of the field and of the experiments present in the continent, generating new collaborations that will further contribute to integrate and develop the region scientifically, as well as promoting further collaborations with CNRS.
